If you’ve never played with the HSL panel in Lightroom, you are missing out on quite a powerful tool!
Jennifer Dell has already written a great article on the power of the HSL and Color panel but today I wanted to talk about using the HSL panel just in reference to skin tones.
This video will show you my basic edit, plus you will learn how to tweak the HSL panel to get glowing skin and get rid of pesky green shadows in just a couple of clicks. Watch the video to learn more, and let me know if you have any questions!
I LOVED this tutorial! I learned so much from it! I am just starting a business and this was very helpful!
Glad you liked it, Bethany! <3
Loved seeing your processing. Great tips on the HSL too. Thanks, Danielle! <3
Glad you liked the tutorial, Sarah!
Very helpful! Thank you! I’d like to know more about how you decide how far to go with the sliders. Does it depend more on personal preference or is there a “correct”? I don’t trust my eye yet. Until you put the two versions of the photo side by side at the end, I couldn’t tell the difference!
Hi Michele! There is definitely no “correct” number… for me it’s just personal preference. I would start by just sliding the slider, rather than typing in numbers like I did, to see the difference. Fiddle around with it and play, and see where you end up. 🙂
Thank you so much! This was very helpful!
Happy to hear it was helpful, Mackenzie. 🙂
Loved the tutorial…I really have not messed with the HSL too much! Thanks so much!
Anybody know of any good tutorials on how to get this through PSE???
Hi, I love this tutorial! I might explore on HSL more. I am new in using Lightroom and in blogging (in general) so I was wondering where did you get your presets? I’ve been looking for presets that will make my photos look like that. Hope you can help!
Love,
Eliza from the Philippines
Hi – just wondered what the presets were – and where I could get them – you do mention in the video, but I can’t quite catch it …
Thanks
I am so glad that I found this tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing!
