ACR and Photoshop video tutorial: A before and after clean edit

If you are an ACR and Photoshop user then this video is for you!

And if you’re a Lightroom user feel free to watch because many things in ACR are also things you can do in Lightroom such as split toning, hsl panel, and the tone curve.

This is an example of a clean, color edit on a picture taken outdoors. I used a Canon 5D Mark III and a Lensbaby Composer Pro with the Double Glass Optic.

I will show you how I use ACR to edit skintones, change the color of a t-shirt, and clone out minor imperfections in the background. In CS5 I will show you how I extend the background so that the photo better meets my vision for the final crop.

Please feel free to leave me a comment or ask a question!

  1. Thank you for this tutorial. I learned so many new things… and realized how much I don’t know about what can be done in editing.

I noticed when you were in ACR that you never clicked on preview to compare the original. Is this generally something you do and would recommend as good practice? I check… and am probably an over checker… and while I think that’s ok I’m always curious on others process.
