I can’t even begin to express with words how helpful this break out session was for me! Well worth it, and so informational. My biggest anxiety traveling to a client’s home is lighting. Heather makes it all click and I no longer have that anxiety I once felt about what the lighting situation may be like. I know now that I can control it and at times just go with it. I hope heater does many more! She is a wealth of experience and knowledge!

I have bought MANY Breakouts from CM & this may be my favorite so far. I am loving it! Heather takes us through an entire in-home newborn, explaining what she’s doing & why along the way. Some BO videos only show the highlights, but this one shows her taking photos of big brother, rocking & re-wrapping the baby, etc. Everything you encounter at an in-home session. The 2nd video is a maternity/ family session. The videos are all well done & easy to watch. The PDF is thorough & includes sample galleries (great idea!). Bonus videos include a 1 year old photo shoot & a culling session (I’ve never seen anyone include one before). I was on the fence about getting this and I’m so glad I did!!

Although I have not had the time to share photos, I am so enjoying this breakout!! From the PDF, to the editing and then actual video of the process this breakout is so thorough without being overwhelming. And I love Heathers teaching style. I generally take family lifestyle photos, but I love the sweetness of newborn photography. And I am expecting my first Grandaughter/Princess, in four weeks and cannot wait to take all I have learned to capture her newborn days!! I have been taking photos of my three Beautiful yet Crazy GrandBoys the last few years but I feel I will be more prepared now for her arrival. And who knows maybe some Newborn Clients in the future!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

While I have liked all the break-outs from Clickin Moms, this one is my favorite. Heather’s PDF explaining her process, lighting, equipment, and session shot lists were so informative!! I cannot wait to dive in to the videos, but if all I received was the PDF, it would have been totally worth it. Love her style!

This breakout is fabulous! It’s perfect for people who shoot in clients’ homes and other common locations like hospitals and parks. I’ve been a fan of Heather’s work for a long time, and I love how she keeps her images so consistent. Her portfolio looks like she has a studio but she takes all those photos in different homes. Of course that starts with the raw images and goes through the editing process, and it’s so interesting and valuable to hear her thoughts throughout all of it. And Heather doesn’t hold back in this breakout! She really went into detail about her decision-making process inside a client’s home, including different scenarios she encounters and how she deals with them, and she includes a ton of little tips that you might not ordinarily think of but will definitely help your sessions go more smoothly. I love how she knows why she is making the decisions that she does, and she is so willing to share that in these materials. And the videos – the videos are wow! I learned a bunch, from how to walk into a home and assess how to create the mood I want in different rooms, to little editing tricks that I never knew about or used – and newborns are tricky, you can never have too many editing tricks for them! But, my favorite part about this breakout was seeing how Heather dealt with all of the “less-than-ideal” factors that come up during sessions. Let’s face it, it almost never works out so everything cooperates (from weather to children, and especially newborns!), and seeing how she made the most of the situations gave me a ton of tricks and ideas for my own sessions! I am so excited to put what I learned to use in my own business!

Wow…this breakout went way beyond my expectations! The amount of information in the PDF alone is worth more than the price, but then I watched the videos and realized that this is gold for new moms and newborn photographers alike! The way she addresses how to photograph children in each room of the home makes this so valuable for everyone. She includes detailed information and lots of beautiful example images demonstrating how she handles challenging light and color (let’s face it, we don’t all have middle gray walls :) ), and I loved the pull-backs that she included so that I could get a true feel for the concepts she explained. As a mom, I loved that she touched on each room of your home and how to use it efficiently and how to combat challenges that might present themselves in that specific room. As a family photographer, I loved that she included her typical workflows for newborn sessions, fresh 48s and for maternity sessions and, more importantly, why those workflows worked for her making the best use of her and her clients’ time. And then all of the concepts taught in the pdf come to life in her shooting videos, where we get to see her work her magic from start to finish! The newborn video shows how she manages both posed images AND lifestyle images, how she chooses which rooms she will shoot in, how she proactively prevents color casts, and how she works with toddlers. The maternity video doubles as a family session and shows her in action and how she manages to get beautiful photos even with a young child who was not into the session (as we’ve all experienced, whether as moms or photographers :) ). And I love the bonus video of the milestone session with the one-year old and seeing how she modifies the environment to get natural expressions and beautiful light in her images. Besides the pdf and shooting videos, she included several great editing videos that I haven’t even gotten through yet! I can’t wait to see what else I learn from her!
