Erin Brant is a lifestyle family photographer who is drawn to moments of happiness and connection. She and her husband are currently raising their 3 energetic boys in San Diego, CA, but she is constantly dreaming up new adventures for them in faraway places. When she isn’t photographing her own wild bunch, you will likely find her potting succulents, starting creative projects she may or may not finish, or daydreaming at the beach. Her work has been featured in some fancy blogs and magazines, but it makes her happiest when she sees it displayed in people’s homes.

Oh my…this just lights up my fire for photographing families even more than before…for a long time, this is how I’ve wanted to photograph families…being real, being themselves, sharing the joy, happiness, love, connections, smiles, even the tears…real life! I feel like this breakout gives me more power to follow my heart and do what I love and share it with my clients. Erin is amazing…full of not only amazing talent, but a love for her families and capturing spirit and it’s obvious that she loves every second of it. She gives great information and explains how to work through the different steps to get to where you want to be with the families, how to become comfortable with this process and oh, so much more! I can’t recommend this enough for anyone who wants to photograph families and children, even if it’s just their own families…you can’t walk away without learning a ton and feeling completely inspired!! Thank you, Erin…you ROCK!! ❤️

I knew I had to buy this breakout when I say Erin chasing around those littles. I have absolutely loved this breakout, I think it’s been my favorite one I’ve done so far. Erin is amazing at what she does in working with families, it’s exactly what I hope to portray in the clients that I photograph. The breakout was beautifully written with so many tips & tricks as well as the videos were helpful in watching how it’s done. I will be reading and watching Erin’s breakout over and over again for a long time.

This breakout is wonderful! I have taken quite a few breakouts and this one is definitely a favorite. I found myself nodding along as I watched the videos and read the PDF. The PDF is packed with practical information as well as motivation, and the shooting videos are so helpful to see how she connects with her clients and how that connection results in joyful authentic shots. But more than anything, Erin offers encouragement and gives you “permission” to capture your vision and let go of the need for perfection and shows just how much beauty there is to be found in the real moments. So grateful for all that you put into this breakout, Erin!

This breakout was such an awesome reminder that our job as photographers, whether personally or professionally, goes so much deeper than the actual photograph. I learned several practical tips as I watched Erin work and highly recommend this breakout to anyone who wants to learn how further connect with their subjects in a genuine way!

This is the perfect name for this session, “The Happy Now!” I can’t help but have a huge smile on my face as I scroll through Erin’s images. This is always something I want to emulate in my photographs and I am so thankful for this opportunity to learn and grow from someone whose images are as beautiful as the person behind them. Erin’s photo sessions are a blast and capture moments of our precious time with our precious people — Something I will treasure always. I highly recommend A) traveling to San Diego and having Erin photograph your family – you won’t regret it! ;) and B) this breakout session! She has so many wonderful things to share with us! I can’t say enough about how wonderful it is! So, so, so, so, great!

This breakout is totally worth it and you should not let it pass you by!!! Erin, I can’t thank you enough for your amazing breakout. As I’m developing my photography style, I am finding myself more in love with candid natural smiles and connections than the traditional posed photos. You showed me how to get there and I’m so excited to try out more of your techniques. You make it look so easy though and I know it’s really tough. Trying to assess for all those things you mentioned (lighting, background, settings, movement and sooooo much movement) is not easy. I don’t know how you manage to nail so many of your shots when you are moving that much but you have inspired me to try more!! And above all, you have inspired me to be more joyful myself. After having 3 kids, I find myself drained more often than not, and it’s hard to stay happy as much as I used to. I know I should be enjoying every moment with my kids and I do for the most part, but as you know, it is exhausting. And unfortunately, I can get into robot mode of just going through the motions and not appreciating them for what they are. So thank you on many levels – photography and personal.

One of the BEST breakout at CM! I have been participating in breakouts for the last 3 years and this one provides so much information, is easy to follow and is worth the money.
If you are a lifestyle photography or just a mom trying to get real pictures of your kids this is perfect for you. The PDF is beautiful ( not just beautiful pictures but lost of information inside), everything is perfectly explain. The videos are so much fun to watch and it shows you how to be relax and have fun while your are shooting. It includes bonus videos and PDF. I am so happy I got it!

I had the pleasure of meeting Erin a few weeks back and why she wasn’t wearing a badge that said “Ask me about my BREAKOUT!!” I’ll never know, because this breakout is simply amazing. She has put her heart and soul into showing us what she does, and how she does it, and when you watch it you really do feel like you are getting an inside peek into a very special process. The fact that the children don’t pay much attention to the cameraman who is following Erin shows her command of not only the situation, but how genuinely warm and inviting she is, which is reflected in the mood of families she photographs. Especially helpful is the voice over on video 2, which allows her to narrate and explain what was happening after all is said and done, and explain why she shot the way she did, which is the same mental run through we all do as photographers as soon as we wrap up a shoot and head back to the car! Any questions that I had (either during the breakout PDF or watching the video) were answered at some point during the session, and anytime I wondered something like, “Ok that works in this scenario but I wonder about here…” Erin used her psychic abilities (ok, I know, it’s really her knowledge as a photographer but it really was like she was reading my mind!) and answered the questions; no matter what I wondered there she was, shooting it: low light inside, (seemingly plain but not really) sidewalk shots outside, unhappy dads, busy kids, kids with broken legs, an emotional grandma, you name it and she shows how to deal with it. Such a great session–I would recommend you purchase it now and start shooting your own happy now right now!!

I would highly recommend this breakout for everyone who shoots families. I am still very new to photography and have only done one session for a friend at work! During this session I felt uncomfortable with giving direction. Even if you are not looking for lifestyle type photography Erin has so many wonderful ideas to get clients to open up and have fun. I loved seeing how she interacts with children. Her happiness and enthusiasm really rubs off on everyone around her and makes for a great experience. I look forward to trying her methods to get families loose and ready to have fun during a session (someday, when I’m ready!).

This is an amazing opportunity to watch the awesome Erin in action. Getting natural and authentic expressions from clients is something I struggle with. Watching Erin conduct her session so flawlessly was so inspiring! On the day I purchased the lesson I read through all of the material and watched the entire family session. I could not stop smiling, Erin is so captivating and fun to watch work. I was inspired by the way she followed the girls’ lead, while still managing to get the shots she was looking for. My budget is tight, so I pick which materials I am going to invest in carefully. This class was exactly what I needed and wanted and the price was perfect for my budget. I can’t recommend these videos enough!

You can easily tell right from the beginning how much love and hard work Erin put into this. I couldn’t stop reading once I started, with a smile on my face the whole time. Her work was not only wonderfully written but also provided a lot of useful and helpful information for photographers. I loved the shooting videos, it was awesome to see how an amazing photographer works while actually on the job. The editing videos were also really helpful, I learned a lot of new tips and tricks that I’m sure I will definitely use in the future. Wonderful, beautiful work! I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to learn more about lifestyle photography. You could see Erin’s love and energy on her face during the shooting videos and you can truly tell that she loves what she does. Wonderful work Erin, I will be reading and watching over and over again!

I’ve devoured this breakout like a pancake breakfast with extra whipped cream. lol. My favorite thing about this breakout is the shooting video she has with a family of 4 in their backyard. It’s so funny and cute, I was laughing out loud at times, and definitely grinning most the video. My husband walked by and looked at me like I was crazy. I love Erin’s approach to family photography, she is so relaxed and fun. It makes me realize that I can be more relaxed and stop feeling this need to act professional. If you photograph kids or families, definitely get this breakout.

Right off the bat I could tell that Erin is someone you’d want to go and have coffee with and just chat. She has so much energy and her love for life is infectious through the materials!! That alone is reason to get this breakout. We could all use the influence of optimistic people more! Her ideas and the way she approaches a session are just awesome. I particularly liked the shooting video because it was great to see her interact with kids and keep them involved. And such incredible patience! You won’t be sorry with this purchase!

**This breakout is stellar!** Erin is an incredible and heartfelt writer; she hits so many chords with her lovely words. Whenever I read a breakout, I always find several statements (the author makes) which make me stop and stare for a few moments, with awe. With these statements, I will copy/paste into my notes- to look back on when I need solace, inspiration, reminders, etc.
Well, I found many more than several within this PDF. I found 48! No kidding!!

If you are on the fence about taking this breakout, please take the leap. It is worth it! Trust me, I have a ginormous amount of breakouts.

Cannot say enough about this breakout! It is obvious that Erin has poured her heart, soul, and JOY into all of it! I even smiled while reading! The practical and real life approach to shooting combined with her wonderfully positive outlook on life is so very uplifting. The connections that Erin has with her clients radiate through her shooting videos! I could not recommend this breakout more! If you’re looking to connect more with your clients, add more authentic expressions to your gallery, or just need some smiles yourself-this is the breakout for you!

I’ve been following Erin for years now so I was thrilled when I heard this breakout was coming. Erin doesn’t disappoint. I’ve taken my fair share of breakouts plus one workshop through Clickin Moms and they’ve all been fantastic. What I love about this one is that I feel like it brings me back home. I’ve expolored some new territory, but The Happy Now brings me back to why I love doing photography in the first place. Erin keeps it simple and reminds us that we don’t need to make it complicated for it to be beautiful. Whether you’re considering this for your first breakout or your 10th, it’s a pretty great choice.

This breakout was phenomenal. Erin is so very clearly a professional who is passionate about her art and creating quality work all the while being so incredibly joyful and relatable, something that exudes in this breakout from start to finish! She gives great insights from her experience and provides you with tangible tips that you can take away and apply to your own work immediately. She shares her refreshing approach and shows you that you don’t have to be afraid of the chaos but rather how to embrace it and capture your clients in a way that makes their personalities shine. I would recommend this breakout to anyone!

Guys, this is the good stuff! You know how you sometimes warble on buying breakouts because the presenters images and theme look lovely but you’re just not sure if it will translate to YOUR work and be worth the money? This one is so inspiring and motivating and just warm; I felt like Erin was an open book. I am so glad I jumped in. Erin’s work to me feels like she has squeezed every laugh out of her clients that she possibly could during the session. I want that in my work and I really try but sometimes my jokes fall flat or my clients seem anxious and then I get super anxious. I love what I do but I want a more comfortable shooting experience for my clients and myself. This breakout reminded me to connect first, to try to find the joy in what I’m doing and to try to be present for my clients and capture them naturally loving on each other amidst all the craziness kids can bring to a session. I loved the joyful way Erin approaches her sessions (as shown in the videos) and the practical tips on cultivating that joy in your own life and work that is presented in the included materials. I feel like I’m not really doing this BO justice, all I know is after binging through the materials I feel more confident in providing direction to my clients and I also feel more accepting of my work. If that makes senses. I felt like this BO gave me permission to be perfectly happy with my imperfect but joyful images. Maybe that’s what I needed all along. Definitely grateful so much love and care went into this session and that I will have these matierals to check back in with if I’m feeling in a slump in the future. If you’re on the fence I seriously recommend going for this one ❤️

I downloaded the breakout yesterday and binge read and watched until midnight with a huge smile on my face because I loved it so much. I have been at a crossroads regarding family photography for a while now. Part of me loves the rush of excitement and pride when I’m able by what unfortunately feels like a happy accident to capture images I’m happy with during a family session. The other much louder part of me absolutely dreads them because I often find myself feeling lost, stuck and just downright nauseatingly anxious and terrified that I won’t be able to deliver images I’m proud of because I won’t know what to do. This breakout has really taught me that it’s okay to embrace the chaos and imperfection that truly is family photography. It has given me a fresh, positive outlook on what I want my family photography sessions to look like in a way that will satisfy both my clients and me as an artist. I feel like I have clear direction now and family sessions seem much less daunting and even *fun!!* Erin has provided such a wonderful peek into what goes on in her mind during a session, how she accomplishes what she wants to in terms of settings and what she looks for in locations, prompts to encourage interaction, complete with beautiful images and quotes and an inspiring section on vulnerability that made me tear up. Her shooting videos are really, really fantastic and so helpful – I truly felt like I was right there along with her at the sessions and found myself grinning ear to ear because she was having so much fun. I really loved being able to hear what she was saying so I could really get a feel for how she was interacting with her clients. The second shooting video with the voice-over provides such wonderful insight into what goes through her mind during a shoot. I also loved that the editing video showed so many different kinds of light and shooting situations (indoor lifestyle, outdoor, silhouette etc). I will undoubtedly be referring to the material in this breakout over and over! Thank you Erin for such a wonderful breakout – it is exactly what I needed!

As a longtime follower, it is exciting to discover how Erin Brant infuses her photos with pure joy, session after session. In this breakout Erin shares her talent and enthusiasm, and teaches us that the transition from chaos to magic happens by connecting with families on a genuine- and sometimes vulnerable- level. She thoroughly explains the components of creating a memorable session and includes shooting video to demonstrate how all the pieces interplay. Erin has produced a comprehensive guide to eliciting and capturing the unique dynamic that each family brings to a session- in the real world where client meets camera.
    Highly recommended!

Those will are great Go To’s to refresh your mind before a session and get inspired. I definitely took away some awesome tips to apply towards my own sessions!

I’ve followed Erin’s beautifully happy work for some time now and always wondered how she made it look so effortless! There is so much behind those genuine smiles and it was so amazing to see how she made clients feel so special. I’ve never seen children at a portrait session laugh like the way they do for Erin and I really want to create those connections for my own clients. I am so excited to put all of her tools into use for my next session!

I have an embarrassing amount of photography education and this breakout is one of the best!!

This was fabulous! Erin is a remarkably kind-hearted and encouraging mentor, and she’s really open about how to coexist joyfully with the chaos we’ve all experienced working with kiddos in front of the lens. She gives really practical guidance about how to prep and manage a session from start to finish, and how to find your own happy at the same time – all in the name of creating beautiful images that are full of your creative vision. The shooting videos were super helpful as well – I loved watching and learning how she really works on set with a family (she shares it all!). I would highly recommend this to anyone who is genuinely looking to find real joy, in front of and behind the lens!
