I have purchased many breakouts in the past. Jen has a beautiful shooting style full of emotion, just what I was looking for. This breakout is packed with information and tons of inspiration. Her photography is beautiful!

I will say I was deciding between this breakout and a few others and the BIG thing that swayed me to pull the trigger on this breakout was the “30 minute on-location shooting video (featuring 5 sessions)” that is listed as included in this breakout. Everyone raved about it in reviews. It IS a beautiful video……but ……not what I expected.

    You hear ONLY MUSIC.

Pretty music, but just music. None of her talking to her clients, none of her directing her clients, none of her telling us what she is doing and why. Just music.
To me this was very disappointing. I didn’t expect a (very lovely) 30 minute promo video for her photography. I expected a “30 minute on-location shooting video”. A “shooting video” to me is just that, full video and audio of the photographer shooting on location. It would have been an EPIC and amazing breakout if that audio of her talking during the “shooting video” had NOT been edited out and music put in it’s place!! What a heartbreak for me. I kept thinking “turn the music OFF!!” :D

Maybe it is just me but I learn from watching and hearing the action. The PDF is wonderful but I have tons of amazing PDFs and it never really sinks in until I see it in ACTION. You do get snippets of her talking to a family during an INDOOR family session, which was great, and even though short it was nice to see and HEAR her in action. She does beautiful work! But just in case you are trying to decide on purchasing this breakout I didn’t want anyone else to be disappointed in the “30 minute on-location shooting video (featuring 5 sessions)”. It is more of a gorgeous promo video of her photography than an instructional video.

Everything else in this breakout is wonderful. Heck, the 30 minute promo video is wonderful! Just not what I expected for a “shooting video”.

This breakout really is one my my faves, I took it during the live run and I learned so much both from Jen and from the materials. I think that emotion is what is what has been missing from my familysessions and Jen really opened my eyes to how important that is; that we need to feel something when looking at a photo. The PDF is great, I usually go over it before I have session just to remind myself of the tips and tricks that is in there. Its hard to capture genuine emotion from people you dont know that well, but Jen has so many good ideas on how to do it. She is also a master at b&w editing, so here is a chance to learn from the best.. There are also shootingvideos from familysessions, which I found really helpful, since I am just starting up my familyphotobusiness. I just cant recommend this enough, its worth every penny!!

It will help me immensely with my client work. The videos are also packed with so much information. You cannot go wrong purchasing this, weather you are a pro or just a beginner. Thank you Jen!!

This breakout is amazing, don’t doubt whether or not you should do it because you should! Everything that is included is beautiful and informative, the PDF, the shooting videos and all of Jen’s photos mixed in. Jen has poured her soul into this and it shows. She has inspired me to take more photos, with more emotion and even my previsualization is improving. I have loved every bit so far and I will definitely be referencing the breakout again and again. Thanks Jen.

Oh my goodness. This breakout is so much more than I was hoping it to be! It is like a complete and detailed guide to photography. Jen takes your hand and guides you through every step of your journey to capturing the emotions and connections.
She even makes you pause and think what emotions and connections are and what they mean to you; she teaches you how to get a vision. On top of that this breakout is full of technical details including what to expose for in the scene and how and WHY; what is your ideal focus point that will tell the story; how to use light in a variety of situations.
I am in the middle of MNLI and I feel this breakout complements it beautifully. And the shooting videos demystifies the whole process even further, giving you confidence in guiding your subjects in a way that enhances natural connections. Thank you, Jen!!

I have been enjoying going through the materials from the Connection and Soul breakout. Reading the pdf is like having Jen literally holding your hand and guiding to how to capture great emotions in your photography. She goes through in depth and detail how to prepare yourself and your clients for the session, and what makes the decisive moment. It’s such a great resource for not only putting your clients at ease, but also for yourself, if you are like me, shooting for myself but looking to translate across the same vision for clients too. This breakout will have you feeling like you can accomplish your vision from capturing moments to creating meaningful imagery.

I’m blown away by this Break Out…….one thing I have wanted to work on in my photos is “connection” and this Break Out is just perfect. The video of the different photo shoots was very insightful and really helps me understand how you are interacting with clients directing and getting in close. This is just what I need to take my photography to the next level. I am so excited to have purchased this and I love all the little tips and tricks I don’t think you left any stone unturned as to how you operate and sharing those tricks of the trade and being open is amazing. Love love love this Break out. Kathy (Australia)

Don’t miss out on this one!! To be completely honest I haven’t even gotten through all of the materials that are provided in this breakout and I already have gotten so much from this. I am trying to take it slow and steady because there is so much valuable information and depth to what Jen is giving to you in this breakout. Wonderful videos and she also includes two presets. You just can’t beat it!

I have been feeling so uninspired with my own work lately. Jen’s breakout was exactly what I needed to help get me out of this cycle. I have barely even left the breakout since it has been out. Connection & Soul is a definite must have for any photographer looking to fuel their creativity and create emotive and connected images.

In the first few minutes after purchasing this breakout, I already learned some new things that will change my work for the best! Jen’s beautiful work is fabulously laid out in the pdf. Both her images and her words are inspirational, and her videos give you a look into how she captures so many emotional moments with her clients. This is one of the best breakouts I’ve come across… one that I’ll definitely be printing out and reviewing before every shoot!

When I think of Jen’s work I always think of “emotion, connection, and soul”. When many of us pick up our cameras we are looking to capture those exact qualities. We quickly realize that it is not as easy as it looks, we may know that we are looking to capture more than a posed smile but people do not relax easy in front of the camera. Jen takes you through her whole process from start to finish, explaining the why’s and how’s, giving incredible insight to how she helps guide and relax her subjects to help achieve those emotional connections. Reading through Jen’s breakout is like sitting down to coffee with her and asking her every question you have ever had about clients, settings, her editing style, everything. She holds nothing back. This breakout is sure to lead you to adding more emotion, soul, and connection into your personal and client work.

This breakout is suited for the photographer who finds passion in capturing connection and soulful imagery. Jen teaches you how to visualize your ideal client and then make that your reality. Her use of light, emotion, and the way she processes her images are all laid out for you in this JAM PACKED e-book. She leaves nothing uncovered and truly pours her heart and soul into teaching you how to look for those connection moments so you can ultimately create emotive imagery. Jen is a true talent and having this piece as a tool will certainly take you to that next level.
