It’s clear that Jyo put her heart and soul into this breakout. The book is gorgeous beginning to end, and chock full of tips to get creative juices flowing and think about things in a different way. I can’t wait to dive into the shooting and editing videos. I can imagine that anyone would learn a lot from the breakout, from beginning to experienced pro. I highly recommend it!

  • Asja Powys-Smith says:

I have thoroughly enjoyed this breakout. I feel as if i learn something new each day. It has made me begin to look at my photography as art for the first time — instead of focusing on getting my image technically correct, it has made me think of what is the emotion, the story I want to capture here and how I want to use the light to convey a mood. Jyo goes into much more detail, explaining each one of these components, in her PDF which is a wealth of information. It is clear that she has poured her heart into this project and I couldn’t be happier that I signed up for this breakout.

    • Jyotsna says:

This is exactly what my intent was!! Looking into creating something from your heart, following it through to achieve that mood, that emotion. I am so very glad you joined us Asja!

  • This breakout is excellent for pushing your boundaries on photographer vs artist, exploring light and creating and following through on vision of an image. I’ve love the down to earth approach of how to play with light, angles and post-processing to create beautiful, artistic images. Jyo does a great job of sharing how she captures everyday life in beautiful ways. Guaranteed to learn and be challenged to push your boundaries!

I’m really enjoying this BO as it talks about the fine art & vision side of photography that isn’t always covered in the Clickin Mom Break Outs…exactly what I was needing! The bonus PDF on self portraiture is great. I love doing self portraits but know that many photographers really struggle with it :)

  • Anne Jeschke says:

I’m loving your breakout – the idea of looking for shadows is new but really making me “look” and “imagine” my shot prior to shooting. I’ve spent so much time trying to meter “correctly” using the Zone System and looking for the “light” that it’s a real change in perspective and methodology to look for shadows and try to capture mood.

  • Lakshmi Mahalingam says:

When Jyo announced that she is going to release a Breakout in Fall, I knew I will purchase it as I am more into light and shadows recently. This breakout doesn’t disappoint me and she has packed it with so much information. PDF on Self Portrait is an added bonus as I love doing Self Portraits. I haven’t shot any Still Life till date, but this breakout inspired me to explore that genre as well. I already started observing light and shadows more now, than I did couple of days back. Thanks Jyo for this inspiring breakout.
