It’s easy to get preoccupied with what everyone else is shooting and how. What we have to do, as cliche as it sounds, is stay true to ourselves. Once you have the basics down, you have to shoot what you love and in your own way. Just because one photographer sees a subject in a certain way doesn’t mean that you have to see that same subject in the exact same way as there are many, many correct ways to photograph a subject. To express that point, here is another installment of our photographer shoot-outs with CMpros Felicia Chang, Alice Che, and Cat McAteer!

From Alice: In January, I was lucky enough to be a part of a little retreat in Kalaloch, which is in the middle of Olympic National Park in Washington. Funnily enough, not a single one of the 10 girls who went knew every other person. The connections were all random, but they were all made on CM. I ended up rooming with Felicia Chang and Catherine McAteer. I have been lucky enough to meet up with Felicia twice before and we chat almost every single day on Facebook, but this was my first time really interacting with Cat! Felicia and Cat, however, were roommates back in college… and this was the first time they had met up in the ten years since! On the last morning, we woke up early and headed down to the beach to have a little shootout. It was an amazing experience and I’m itching to meet up with these girls again.
