The “I Am a Photographer” campaign is a social project that encourages photographers to join together in a series of self portraits that celebrate our many identities and experiences as women in the photography community — Photographer. Woman. Artist. Mother. Advocate. Survivor. Healer. And More.
In recognition of the many roles that they hold, we asked women photographers to shoot a self portrait holding a word other than “photographer” that represents some aspect of who they are. For all they’ve been through, for all they do to improve the world around them every day in ways big and small, this is a celebration of strong, empowering, inspiring women in the photography community and everywhere.

The photographers in this video represent just a handful of the self-portrait submissions we received for the “I am a Photographer” project. Clickin Moms invited the entire CM community to participate in this project and will donate $1 for every image submitted by March 31, 2012 to RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization. One in six women is a victim of sexual assault; if you’d like to help us to raise as much as we can to help stop this horrific violence, we invite you to submit your own “I am a Photographer” image on the CM board, or you can make your own donation here.
Not presently a Clickin Moms member but want to participate? Use code IAM2012 to sign up for a free seven day trial subscription, which will give you board access so that you can view more community submissions and submit your own self portrait to benefit RAINN. Please be sure to cancel your Paypal subscription before the end of the seven day trial if you do not wish to stay with us as a regular member.
