„More than a snapshot“ is a wonderful break-out not only for beginners and intermediates. I can take away a lot for my own practice, for example Maria´s way of observing and waiting instead of overshooting as so many photographers do (including myself). Maria is a very kind teacher and she tries to comment on as many pictures as possible in the forums although she wouldn´t have to in a break-out. In her comments she always focuses on the strong points of the pictures and on the achievements but also on things which could be improved. I find this mixture extremely helpful as I´m not always self-confident about my pictures.
The materials in this course are very informative and also nice to look at (Maria included really gorgeous pictures!). I got the impression that Maria really tried to put as much of her expertise in it as possible. What I also appreciate very much are the many links to other photographers work and workshops that one can find in the materials. So Maria not only shares her expertise but also a bit of the way in which she got to the point where she is now as a photographer.
That the presets which Maria uses in her work and a workshop which she recommends were both available at a reduced price at the time the break-out had just started, made me wonder a bit but I´m aware that photography is a big business in which photographers have to hold together to sell their products. Which are really great in this case :-)

  • Wow. I have long been a fan of Maria’s work and now I am hooked even more. I love how conscious she is of each shot and “seeing” the images through her eyes has me looking at my own home in a completely different manner. I honestly wasn’t sure how much I would get from this breakout, but again, being a huge Maria Manco fan, I had to give it a go and I am truly blown away. From both a technical stand point and an inspirational standpoint, “More Than Just a Snapshot” is well worth it for every photographer. I love trying new little tricks as well as challenging myself to see in a new light and Maria offers plenty of both. I have officially been re-inspired. Thank you, Maria!!!

I’ve been a follower of Maria’s work for years and was so excited when I saw she was coming out with a breakout… And she certainly didn’t disappoint! She is a wealth of knowledge and in this breakout she really is an open book. She shares everything she knows about using light and composition to capture that perfect moment. I also love how she shared her editing process, since I’ve always loved her post-processing style :). I’ve been a photographer for 4 years now and still found I learned so many new things from Maria and was so inspired to explore more of the light in my own home. Thanks for a great breakout, Maria!

Maria is one of my favorite artists and I was thrilled by the opportunity to take her breakout. After pouring through the PDF and videos in one evening (because I couldn’t stop!), I can say it exceeded my expectations. The PDF is simple and concise, but loaded with information. Throughout are references to the videos, which really breaks up the reading. I love the style with which she writes. The tips are simple and straightforward. Though I’ve been shooting for several years, I found the review of light and the exercises extremely helpful. It is perfect for both a beginner and a more experienced photographer wanting a fresh take on shooting their home and family. I highly recommend it!

  • Erin says:

I’m so thrilled with this breakout! Maria is a master at photographing her children in simple, yet incredibly beautiful, ways. As a professional photographer I always mean to take more photos of our everyday life, but I often get tired of shooting in our home over and over. Maria has definitely inspired me to look at my environment (and my children!) in new ways! I’m feeling excited to put some of her methods and ideas into practice in 2017 and beyond. The timing really couldn’t be better!

  • Mindy Diaz says:

I always loved seeing Maria’s photos and how she capture your kids. When I saw that she will have a class with clickinmoms, I knew I had to read it. I love all the information she shared with using different kinds of light, getting emotions, and observing and waiting for that moment. I have been shooting both digital and film and I cannot wait to be out of my comfort zone and shoot more in 2017. Seriously love this course. Thanks for sharing everything you know Maria <3

  • Grace says:

I found some really good information in this breakout, I think if you are just starting out with the photography this is definitely worth purchasing. If you are more intermediate to advanced, I don’t think this will help you as much. But Maria has put a great deal of information in the PDF and the videos that gave me inspiration to once more try to take more pictures of my kids in my tiny dark apartment and play with the light.

    • Maria says:

Thank you Grace! This is definitely written for the beginner to intermediate photographer but also for any level photographer who needs inspiration shooting their own children in and around their home. I’m happy you are finding some inspiration in it!

  • Lacey Barnes says:

I loved reading this. I’ve been really trying to get more “everyday life” pictures and this has really made me even more motivated. I am a hobby/at home photographer, and I felt this was simple enough for me to understand and read, but by no means not packed with details. I loved seeing the videos and walkthroughs attached, because sometimes seeing a visual helps even more than reading along with the pdf. My goal in 2017 is to refer to this throughout the year and try to take more meaningful every day photos for my children to have one day.

  • Shayla says:

I loved reading through this breakout and I’m excited to put some of my learning into practise. Even though I’ve worked as a photographer in the past, I’ve always been terrible at getting my dslr out to photograph my own children. I made a promise to myself to change this in 2017 and this breakout has been the perfect place to start for me! It was really good to get back to basics, and learn more about light by watching Maria photograph her own children and actually seeing first hand how she utilises light in her own home. Maria has been an open book and made all the information really easy to digest! Love your work Maria, it truly is so inspiring and meaningful. Thank you for sharing your talents!!!♥♥♥

  • Sara C says:

Since I am on the verge of starting my 365 soon this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time! Maria is an amazing photographer who gives an in depth look into her thought process and how to achieve the best possible photos in any situation. There are videos, PDF instructions and a forum to round out the information and give you all the knowledge you will need to turn your everyday photos into something amazing! I am so excited to see where this breakout takes me! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us Maria

  • Maggie Fuller says:

Maria has me excited about capturing our everyday in a way that really emphasizes what “home” is to us. I love the 4 questions she uses when photographing something and I believe thinking these questions through will help create meaningful everyday images. Also, she not only shares how she finds the light in her home but how to use the light to create feelings within the image. I highly recommend purchasing this breakout! P.S. If you’re thinking about starting a 365 this breakout will keep you motivated and definitely help you create a meaningful year of images!

  • I love everything about this. It’s extremely in depth and packed with every detail you need to help take your images to the next level. Definitely worth every penny.
