Photography is my escape into creativity. It is my form of therapy from the daily grind -- I get to shoot whatever my heart desires. I am most drawn to architectural lines, rhythm, textures, shadow and light, and rich colors. I find beauty in these elements and I create photos to express this. My subjects range from my fast moving son to the stills of food, from carefully planned self portraits to the freeing nature of abstracts, and from the details of macros to the expansive environmentals.
When I'm not photographing, I love to explore the many county and state parks in the San Francisco Bay Area with my family. Occasionally, I can be found engrossed in a book, learning crochet, or being beaten in a game of Uno by my son. And more times than I like to admit, I just like being a couch potato. Even then, photography is not far from my mind. Visit Mabel Chow online.
