The Basics

Where is Click Away 2018 located?

Amelia Island, Florida - specifically at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort!

And it is AMAZING. Our best location yet! Why, you ask?

Well, first off, it's on an island (need we say more?). Second, the resort property is gated, meaning only official guests can enter, which will make the whole event feel more intimate and special. The resort property is immaculately landscaped and the views are simply breathtaking. Look east and you have the sun rising over the Atlantic ocean, look west and you'll see the sun setting over the scenic intracoastal waterways. You will never run out of things to photograph here. It's truly a creative oasis.

I’m a beginner photographer. Is Click Away for me?

Absolutely! With over 130 programs to choose from, there is programming for every skill level as well as across a variety of genres! When looking at classes to choose from in the Sched Scheduling Tool, you can search by keywords for specific subjects as well as for specific levels of photography such as beginner, intermediate or advanced. We have something for everyone!

Is Click Away for hobbyists or photographers in business?

Both! Click Away offers a great breadth of educational topics for hobbyists and business owners alike. Want to become a more skilled photographer? Want to grow your business acumen? Want to learn how to process images creatively and efficiently? Click Away is for everyone interested in photography! Do I have to be a member of Clickin Moms in order to attend Click Away?

Definitely not! As in previous years, we welcome everyone – members and non-members alike – to join us for a shared celebration of photography at an event unlike any other!

WHAT'S INCLUDED WITH MY TICKET?

Every ticket gets you access to three days of incredible interactive programming and events held in and around the Omni Amelia Island, including a keynote talk, 7 session custom program schedule, social events, a gift bag, and two light breakfasts.

Program options vary by ticket level. Matte ticketholders build a seven program schedule that may include up to three boutique sessions. Luster ticketholders build a seven program schedule that may include up to five boutique sessions. And Gloss ticketholders build a seven program schedule that may include up to seven boutique sessions.

Gloss tickets also include exclusive upgrades like Networking Lunch tickets all three days (Fri/Sat/Sun), a VIP ticket to the Presenter/Mentor Mixer, and an amazing VIP Gift Bag.

WHERE IS CLICK AWAY PROGRAMMING ACTUALLY HELD?

All programs will be held on-site at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort! Indoor programs will be held within conference rooms and hotel suites. Outdoor boutique sessions will be held outdoors on plantation grounds or on the beach (all within walking distance).

Hotel & Location

Where should I stay for Click Away 2018?

That's easy. You should stay at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. You'll be close to the action and surrounded by Click Away attendees because we've reserved (almost) the entire resort. Yep, you read that right.

The Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort is located at 39 Beach Lagoon Road, Amelia Island, Florida 32034.

WHAT AIRPORT DO I FLY INTO?

You should fly into the Jacksonville, Florida airport. From there, it's an easy (and beautiful) 35 minute drive to the resort.

WHAT FUN THINGS CAN I DO AT THIS RESORT?

So many things it's going to be hard to choose. Here are some options to get you started:

1. Take advantage of one of 378,455 photo ops 2. Lounge on the 3.5 miles of dune-swept beaches 3. Relax by the stunning ocean-side pools 4. Enjoy miles of walking, jogging, and biking trails 5. Explore the island on a kayak, paddle board, island hopper, or Segway 6. Visit the shopping village with quaint boutiques 7. Check out the fully equipped Health & Fitness Center with heated indoor pool 8. Go horseback riding on the beach 9. Recharge at the nature-inspired spa 10. Partake in a little tennis or golf

You may never want to leave.

CAN I EXTEND MY STAY?

The special Click Away room block rate is available February 13-19, 2018. If you want to extend your stay, go right ahead. You’ll just have to call the Omni to add additional nights to your reservation outside of the Click Away room block.

Is room & board included with my ticket?

Lodging is not included with registration. We have secured a special room rate at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, right where Click Away is taking place. Make your hotel reservation here.

Can you help me decide if I should book a resort room or a villa?

Yes! You can't go wrong with either a resort room or a villa, but there are a few differences to know about. Standard resort rooms are located near the conference center and every single room features a gorgeous view of the ocean. (Think of the sunrise shots you'll be able to capture!) You can opt for a either a king bed or two queens if you want to share a room. Some resort rooms are a little closer to the conference center than others, but the walk from any of the resort rooms is easy (and super enjoyable with all the lush vegetation and covered walkways!).

Villas are privately owned dwellings (think townhouses or condos) with private entrances. These are perfect for pairs or groups of friends who want to share a living space. There are some with ocean views and others that look out over natural areas; you can select the view you want when you book. The number of bedrooms in each unit varies, so you can opt for just the right number of rooms that you need for your group. They all have kitchens, dining rooms, and living areas, so think pizza parties in your pajamas. Also, most have the same number of bathrooms as bedrooms (love that!). The villas are spread out over the resort property, but most are within walking distance to the conference center. Those staying in villas that are a little farther away can rely on the Omni's extensive network of free shuttles that can transport guests anywhere on the plantation. Just make a quick call to the concierge and a van will usually be ready for you within 5-10 minutes to take you where you need to go. Score!

Conference & Events

When and where do I pickup my badge at Click Away?

You will pick up your conference badge by presenting a photo ID when you arrive at the conference. Your badge will gain you entry to Click Away programs, activities and events.
We have convenient badge pick up times:

  • Friday, February 16 at our Mimosas & Mingle Registration Event 8:30am-10:30am
  • Friday, February 16 10:30am-5:00pm
  • Saturday, February 17 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Sunday, February 18 8:30am-5:00pm

Is Click Away a family event? Can my child accompany me?

We have curated a rich social and educational schedule specifically for today’s modern photographer and do not offer programming for children at this time. Infants and nursing babies are always welcome to accompany their mothers, though we respectfully request that you quietly step out if your little one becomes disruptive. If you have a stroller, please don't block aisles or exits. We do not have child-specific programming for young photographers or childcare services at this time, though Amelia Island has lots of great recreational activities for your family if they choose to accompany you to the conference!

What should I bring with me for Click Away?

Your camera, of course; plus a charger and some extra memory cards (trust us, you are going to be shooting up a storm!). A notebook and pen are necessities, too, because with what these presenters have in store for you, you going to be brimming with information, inspiration, secrets, strategies, and new ideas to try.

DOES THE RESORT COMPLY WITH ADA REQUIREMENTS?

Yes, the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Please contact clickawayinfo@clickandcompany.com if you will need special arrangements at the hotel so we can make your visit to Click Away carefree and pleasant.

Tickets & Schedule Building

What do I get with the various ticket levels?

In addition to attending the opening keynote and social events, each attendee will build herself a seven program custom schedule comprised of seminar-style Photography Talks and small-group Boutique Sessions (which include classroom programs, styled shoots, and shooting demos).

Program options vary by ticket level. Matte ticketholders build a seven program schedule that may include up to three boutique sessions. Luster ticketholders build a seven program schedule that may include up to five boutique sessions. And Gloss ticketholders build a seven program schedule that may include up to seven boutique sessions.

Gloss tickets also include Networking Lunch tickets all three days (Fri/Sat/Sun), a VIP ticket to the Presenter/Mentor Mixer, and an amazing VIP Gift Bag.

GOT IT! NOW, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PHOTOGRAPHY TALK AND A BOUTIQUE SESSION?

Photography Talks are seminar-style educational programs led on stage to larger audiences (typically 100+). This year, our Photography Talks include both single speaker programs and multi-presenter discussion panels.

Boutique Sessions, on the other hand, are more intimate offerings which may be held indoors or out and includes classroom programs, styled shoots, shooting demos, round-table Q&As, small-group critiques, and more.

WILL MEALS BE PROVIDED?

Start your day off with coffee and conversation each morning! All attendees will enjoy coffee and a light breakfast spread both Saturday and Sunday.

New in 2018, we're also hosting three networking mixers with lunch spreads specially prepared by chefs at the Omni (and we've got your vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options covered as well!). All three lunches are included with Gloss level tickets and can be purchased a la carte by Matte and Luster ticketholders.

Do we have to buy tickets to the Networking Lunches at the same time we buy our conference ticket or can we purchase later?

You can purchase Networking Lunch tickets and conference tickets separately. Please keep in mind that Networking Lunch tickets are limited and are expected to sell out.

Will you be streaming like in past years?

At this time, we have no plans to stream 2018 programming. We’ve made some exciting changes to this year’s Click Away, and our team is focused on refining the look, feel, and overall experience for attendees. You’ll still get the high quality classes you’ve come to expect, and we’ve reimagined the schedule to include more amazing attendee events, including Mimosas & Mingle at registration, a stunning Opening Night Party, light social breakfasts, and a magical Farewell Beach Bonfire. Click Away will feel more exclusive and retreat-like than ever before, and you don’t want to miss out!

Are recordings included in my ticket?

As we have no plans to stream or record 2018 programming, we are not offering downloadable recordings of Click Away programs with tickets this year.

How do I select my custom schedule of classes?

That’s easy! Once you have purchased your ticket for Click Away 2018, you will then be invited to the Sched Scheduling Tool (clickaway2018.sched.org) to access our entire schedule of classes.
Once you’re set and logged in, you can begin adding classes to your schedule!

  • If you click (or hover) over a title - you can read more details about the program itself to see if it’s right up your alley!
  • You can use the search box to look for programs containing specific tags/keywords, program types, or levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced).
  • To add a class to your schedule, simply click the checkbox in front of the program title. Once you see a checkmark in there, it’s on your schedule.
  • The scheduling site will not allow you to select more than one session during a given time slot or allow you to select more of a certain type of session that your ticket allows - so if you need to remove something from your schedule, just uncheck it!
  • If you are in a full class, and remove it from your schedule, someone else might grab that available seat quickly.
  • There are no waitlists for full classes.
  • To see your individual schedule, click on/hover where your avatar image goes and select “My Sched”. This will give you a view of all that you have selected.

I CAN NO LONGER ATTEND. CAN I GET A REFUND?

We're sorry to hear you can't make it! We are able to honor refund requests through December 16, 2017. All refunds are subject to a 20% cancellation fee. No refund will be issued for cancellations received after December 16, 2017. This policy applies to all ticket types, including but not limited to Matte, Luster, Gloss, Business Pass, and Networking Lunch tickets. If you need to cancel your registration, please contact clickawayinfo@clickandcompany.com.

I CAN NO LONGER ATTEND. CAN I SELL OR TRANSFER MY TICKET?

Click Away tickets are nontransferable, but we are able to honor refund requests made prior to December 16, 2017. Please note that all refunds are subject to a 20% cancellation fee, and refunds are not available for any reason after December 16, 2017. If you need to cancel your registration, please contact clickawayinfo@clickandcompany.com.

MAY I UPGRADE MY TICKET?

Yes! You can upgrade to a higher ticket level if tickets are available. Just email us (clickawayinfo@clickandcompany.com) and we'll get you squared away.

WILL TICKETS SELL OUT?

A limited number of each ticket type is available, and individual classes do fill quickly. We suggest buying your ticket early and securing your seat for those individual classes you just HAVE to attend (but we know it's hard to choose!).

Once tickets sell out, we will set up a waitlist for hopeful attendees.

AN INSTRUCTOR OR SPEAKER IS NO LONGER ON THE LINEUP. WHAT NOW?

Unfortunately, emergencies happen and sometimes a presenter needs to cancel due to unexpected circumstances which are beyond our control. We are unable to offer refunds due to a presenter cancellation, but will help to ensure you still have an amazing experience during that program session time.
