Perfect posing guides for all photographers

With busy season starting, I have been reviewing all of my posing guides, books and manuals that I have purchased over the years. As I was going through them, I realized that there are a few that I always come back to for inspiration. I have purchased multiple guides from the same vendor or photographer because I loved what I purchased the first time around so much. Here are the posing guides, manuals, or books that I consider to be must haves:

1. The Posing Manual by Sue Bryce

If you are familiar with Sue Bryce’s gorgeous and inspirational photography, you know that she is the master of making women look and feel beautiful. This digital download posing guide teaches you how she poses and creates her specific style through simple & gorgeous posing techniques. $300

2. The Curvy Girls Posing Guide by Sue Bryce

This is a standalone product that perfectly complements Sue’s Posing Manual. She walks you through the best way to shape, contour, slim and lengthen bodies. No matter your photography genre, this guide is an essential. $85

3. The Design Aglow Posing Guide for Family Portrait Photography

This book is a valuable source of posing ideas for newborns, babies, children and families. If you are familiar with Design Aglow, you know you can expect top-notch quality and content. I am happy to say that this posing guide did not disappoint – there is inspiration on every page. $18.57

4. The Design Aglow Posing Guide for Wedding Photography

This wedding photography posing idea book is helpful for experienced wedding photographers as well as those just starting out. The book gives 100 modern posing references for not only weddings but for couples in general. It is full of great tips and more importantly, inspiration. $17

5. Picture Perfect Practice by Roberto Valenzuela

The first time I heard Roberto Valenzuela speak about posing, I immediately had to buy this book. It is full of amazing posing tips that will help you never run out of ideas when you are on a shoot. He has discovered and created a science to posing that I haven’t seen anywhere else. His approach focuses on the artistic and creative side of image making and I could not recommend it more. $26.09

6. Picture Perfect Posing by Roberto Valenzuela

Roberto truly is the architect of great posing. This book explains the “why” behind posing and does not leave any details out. He covers so many tips you can read it over and over and still learn something new each time. I would recommend this to anyone at any level in their photography journey. $31.61
