The Word Project: new beginnings

It’s time for another blog post of The Word Project, where members of the CMteam are given a single word and asked to interpret it through individual images.  We look forward to showing creativity and diversity through our own unique styles and perspectives.

This month was a special one, we were given the words ‘New Beginnings’ to capture and translate as we wished, all the while keeping one of our CMteam in mind. Someone who we adore and who has had(…)

the word project: forgotten

the word project: forgotten

Another word project blog post from the CMteam, where we ask them to interpret a different word through their own personal images. It’s always so interesting and inspiring to see what everyone does with the different words, and these images really show how diverse and unique each photographer is.

This month’s word was ‘forgotten’. A word that conjures up so many distinct and powerful emotions, and our team perfectly displays that in their different variations that they share with us. We(…)

the word project: freelensing

the word project: freelensing

Each month, the CMteam is asked to interpret a different word through their own personal images.  It’s been so fun watching the different variations of each word and this month was probably the most challenging to date.  The word chosen this month was ‘freelensing’, something that many of the team hadn’t attempted before.  Considering the extra challenge, we think they’ve come up with some really lovely and unique images, and we hope you enjoy them.

If you’d like to have a(…)

the word project: mysterious

Each month, the CMteam is given a single word and asked to interpret it through individual images.  This month we were given the word Mysterious, a word that can be interpreted in so many different ways.  The dictionary itself has three different definitions for it but when we think of it photographically, the definitions are much more varied.  We always look forward to showing creativity and diversity through our own unique styles and perspectives and we hope you enjoy these(…)

the word project: natural

The Word Project, where members of the CMteam are given a single word and asked to interpret it through individual images.  We look forward to showing creativity and diversity through our own unique styles and perspectives.

This month’s word is natural and the images posted below reflect and portray what that means to each of us. We’ve interpreted the word quite differently, some of us viewing it through the natural world surrounding us and some of us viewing it through the(…)

the word project: brave

This is our fourth blog post, where members of the CMteam are given a single word and asked to interpret it through individual images.  We look forward to showing creativity and diversity through our own unique styles and perspectives.

What does the word brave mean to you?  This month we’ve put together a collection of images that represents what the word brave means to us. We see bravery through our everyday lives, through our children, and through the world around us.(…)

personal photo project: one year one lens

Personal Photography Project of Kristy Dooley

one year one lens

What is/was your personal project and what inspired you to start it?
My “One Year One Lens” project is a 365 I’m shooting exclusively with my 100mm.  I completed a traditional 365 in July of 2013 and was honestly a little afraid to stop shooting daily.  I saw so much growth in that year and loved having a year’s worth of photos of my girls while they are so young.  I wanted to(…)

3 inspiring tips from an experienced 365er

by Roxanne Bryant
365:  A year-long journey in erasing fear, making mistakes, and creating art.

It is a distinctly great challenge to pick up your camera and shoot every single day for one year.  When I decided to begin a 365 project, I had no idea how the journey would stretch me.  For most of my life, I had been making art in the constraints of a very tight box.  Folded upon myself, I was fearful of everything – mistakes, judgment, taking(…)

the word project: luminous

Each month, the CMteam are given a single word and asked to interpret it through individual images.  We look forward to showing creativity and diversity through our own unique styles and perspectives.

This month’s word, luminous which the Merriam Webster dictionary defines as “emitting or reflecting usually steady, suffused, or glowing light”, evoked and inspired an amazing collection of light filled image.  Although our photography styles differ, this month’s word really blended our images together beautifully.

We hope you enjoy this month’s(…)

personal photo project: kids of summer

Personal Photography Project of Jennifer Jabbour

kids of summer

What is/was your personal project and what inspired you to start it?
My personal project is titled “Kids of Summer.” One hot, summery afternoon, all the kids were playing out in the front yard, and it was just one of those picture perfect moments; one of those scenes that reminded me of my own childhood. I grabbed my camera and hid in the corner of the yard and just let them continue playing the way(…)

a man and his truck

What is/was your personal project and what inspired you to start it?
I’ve been calling my project ‘A Man and His Truck’, though it’s spread out a little to include my husband’s other project car (a Nissan 240).  I realized about a year ago that the bulk of my pictures were of my kids…I was in the middle of my first 365 and looking at my photos made it seem like my husband(…)

the word project: reality

This is our second blog post, where members of the CMteam are given a single word and asked to interpret it through individual images.  We look forward to showing creativity and diversity through our own unique styles and perspectives.
We’re keeping it real this month.  The CMteam has dug deep with some personal and introspective images that include the bittersweet beauty, and the familiarity of their daily lives.  Our word was ‘reality’.  What started as a simple discussion between the team(…)

the word project: hope

Sometimes it does the heart good to come together and share a mutual appreciation for something really special with a group of friends.  It’s not always easy finding the time in hectic lives to pursue our loves and dreams, so we’ve decided to keep things simple, authentic and fun as well as encouraging each other to pick up our camera from time to time.

The CMteam is excited to announce our very first collaborative project, The Word.  Each month, members of(…)

happy anniversary cmpro daily project

by Emma Wood
I truly can’t believe that it’s been a year since ClickinMoms started the CMpro Daily Project.  It was started in the hope that it would encourage participants to shoot and share on a regular basis.  And although we knew it was a great idea, what we didn’t know was how much it would mean to us, or how many wonderful friendships would develop from it.  There have been huge amounts of laughter, tears, compassion, and love as we’ve watched(…)

cmglimpse | an instagram project

by Leah Cook
Have you discovered the wonderful world of Instagram and the fun new challenge of CMglimpse?  It’s a fabulous way to get a peek inside all of our members’ lives!  The great thing about CMglimpse is that the ‘theme’ of the day is set, so you don’t even have to decide about what to shoot…just find a way to post what you can, however creative or straightforward it might be.  Shooting daily with a ‘big camera’ can sometimes be(…)
