introducing the newest CMteam mentors!
She may love to cook, bake, and garden but photography is where Lisa’s heart lies. Although her four children are older, all out of high school, she just began her journey a few years ago. She enjoys documenting the days in their lives with her Canon 5d Mark III and assortment of prime lenses and lensbaby, and does it in her natural, low light, and emotive way. Lisa lives in California with her husband of 25 years and likes to spend her day off driving to the ocean, hiking, reading a good book, and spending time with her friends and family.
Marissa loves sports, traveling, foreign languages, diet soda, lip gloss, flip flops, madeleine cookies, and black licorice. She also loves photography which she really got into after the birth of her third son though she had been interested in it for years. Marissa lives in Washington with her husband and three boys and shoots with a Nikon D700 and varied prime lenses.
Elicia, a long time art lover, began her journey through photography shorty before she became a mother. She says, “I had always had an interest in art yet photography was the first medium where I felt my vision translate. I can’t draw a stick figure to save my life.” Drawn to black and white photography in particular, she has a very intimate, peaceful, and earnest style to her work. Her gear includes a Nikon D800 and three prime lenses, a 28mm, 35mm, and 85mm. Elicia lives in California with her husband and two daughters and enjoys running, reading, hiking, the beach, ice cream, the farmers market, and Anthropologie.
Mother to two handsome shih tzus, Jenni resides in Texas where she specializes in maternity, newborns, and babies up to one year. Her photography style, much like her personal style, is very simple and soft. As she says, “I just prefer simple elegance. And that is very much reflected in my work – in my subjects, how I compose images, as well as in my processing.” Jenni shoots with a Nikon D700 and several prime lenses. She also loves her new bangs, coffee, sugar free red bull, chardonnay, and her Tempurpedic bed.
Residing in Winnipeg with her husband and three daughters, Carol is a Canon photographer shooting with a 5d mark II and a select few choice lenses. While she’s always loved photography and has been active in taking pictures it wasn’t until her family got their first computer in 2005 and the land of the internet showed her “what was possible in the world of child photography.” Carol’s personality is quiet, thoughtful, and laid back and she tends to reflect that in her work. On her days off, she prefers to spend time with her family, a cup of coffee, a good book, and camping.
Living in California with her husband, son, and daughter, Corinne shoots with a Canon 5d mark III and a few prime lenses. Her interest in photography started in high school but didn’t really pursue it until 2010 when she purchased her first DSLR. Her style, like herself, is very laid back. In her own words, “I like to have fun, laugh a lot, and go with the flow at sessions. Capturing genuine interactions, and natural expressions are at the top of my priority list.” Other than photography, she enjoys the beach, hiking, comfy clothes, flip flops, and Dr. Pepper.
Allison currently lives in Brooklyn with her Coast Guard officer husband and two children. Like many new moms, she picked up a camera early on as a means to document the milestones and fleeting everyday moments in her children’s lives. Since then, she has become passionate about creating artistic, meaningful and genuine images of her children and their journey through childhood. Allison’s gear consists of a Nikon D700 and a couple primes lenses. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, chocolate, latte dolces, her iPhone, and exploring New York City.
Armed with a Nikon D700 and multiple lenses, Melissa resides in Delaware with her husband and two children. She became interested in photography a few months before her daughter was born but didn’t get serious about it until a year later. When asked about her simple and classic work she says, “I am a very simple person that likes very little clutter and steers clear of trends! My work has very much been a mirror of my life.” Outside of photography, Melissa enjoys sewing, reading, home design, and her Rainbow flip flops.
As a self proclaimed happy hobbyist, Allison minimally explored photography in her college years but didn’t get serious about it until 2004. Since then, she has completed several 365 projects and enjoys documenting her family, husband and two daughters, with a lifestyle approach. Ideally her days would be spent with friends and family, coffee, chips and salsa, and of course her camera, a Nikon d700, and assortment of Nikon lenses, mostly primes.
