We will be interviewing a different CMPro member every month so we can all get to know them better – so exciting! First up for the month of March is the lovely and talented Amii Wroblewski. Amii is a longtime CM member and has always been so sweet, helpful and willing to share – we love that about her!

What gear do you shoot with?
I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II.
What is your go to lens?
Definitely my 85mm 1.8…I shoot with that 99% of the time.
What path did you take in becoming a professional photographer?
I am self-taught for the most part but also reached out to another photographer that became my business mentor before I even decided to open up for business. It was the best thing I could have ever done!
If you were not a photographer, what career do you see yourself in?
I’ve always dabbled in the creative arts of some sort so I’m not sure! I’ve always been told to do what I love and I’ve strived hard to always hold that near and dear to my heart. Personally, my favorite “career” is that of being a mom and wife!
What would your dream shoot be?
I would love to do a few concept shoots that involves a bit of fashion, OCF and lots of thinking outside of the box. I’m really hoping to accomplish at least one of these this year! Oh and I have no clue about OCF so I would need to learn that!
Funniest or most awkward moment on a shoot?
I think it was more sad than anything but I shot a newborn session where everything that could go wrong did go wrong AND I only ended up with a couple of images from the entire 4 hours I was there.
Most memorable photography moment?
I think it was when I realized that I had something to offer others…oh and that clients were willing to pay me to take their pictures!
What is your current favorite photo that you’ve taken and why?
I have a number of fave client images but my current fave photo is one of my son opening up a gift on Christmas morning….his face shouted joy and I was able to capture that memory with my camera.
Who or what inspires you?
Oh gosh, I’m a big melting pot when it comes to inspiration! I will say that I’ve ALWAYS been enamored with Alice in Wonderland and Tim Burton movies so when Tim Burton decided to try his hand at Alice in Wonderland…I was IN LOVE! Aside from that, I’m especially inspired by other photographers that have mind-blowing talent like Bobbi+Mike and The Image is Found.
What’s on the horizon for your business?
Well, I’m doing a ton of research on possibly offering in-person mentoring sessions for other photographers. I have a deep love for all things in-person related and I know many others that want to take their business to the next level and I would like to help them with that. I’m also looking at possibly delving into boudoir photography this year and have a few things up my sleeve! Other than that, I just want to rock the senior photography world!

Absolutely Beautiful! I love the light look to all of your pictures. Is it the 1.8, off camera flash, a photoshop action? How do you achieve this lighting?
