Who doesn’t love a fantastic giveaway? And a new LENS at that? Doesn’t get much better! One of our fabulous CM vendors, the wonderful folks at Tamron, have given us one of their new lenses to give away on the CM blog.
You may remember the great review that Sarah Phillips did of Tamron’s new AF18-270MM F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD lens. If you missed it, you can find all the details along with some great examples of what this lens is capable of here. This lens is available for Canon, Nikon and Sony camera bodies.
The details:
Tamron’s next generation 18-270mm, the world’s lightest, smallest 15x zoom optimized for use on APS-C- DSLRs, continues the pursuit of the ideal all-in one zoom lens. Combining prior award-winning achievements with new engineering breakthroughs yielded the remarkable 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD (Piezo Drive). Special piezoelectric technology now delivers faster, quieter precision autofocusing. Tamron’s exclusive tri-axial VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization, featuring three pairs of driving coils and low-function ball bearings placed around the VC optical group, combats camera shake-related image blur. It’s Tamron VC that allows handheld shooting at as many as four shutter speeds slower than otherwise possible with a dramatically stable viewfinder experience. Compactness and light weight are preserved, thanks in part to the VC mechanism’s newly-developed moving coil mechanism.
Defining compositional freedom the 18-270mm Di-II VC’s incredible 15x zoom range provides a 35mm picture angle equivalency of 28mm to 419mm, with image fidelity assured by advanced optical design featuring LD glass and aspherical optics, working in concert to render crisp, colorful and faithful images.

Photography is kind of a new hobby to me. Not so much a passion … yet. I like to photograph nature most – clouds, mountains, wildflowers. I also love when I get a really great candid shot of kids, but those are much more rare.

Umm. Total LIKE! This lens would be PERFECT for taking to the beach. I kept swapping out between my Tammy 28-75 and my Canon 55-250. I would LOVE this for my walk around lens when shooting surfers. I do hope I win! (I shoot surfing at F/8 so the variable Aperture doesn't bother me in the least!) And, I've always had Tamron lens, they are quite nice. Just took THIS photo with my Tamron today!

Hi already a fan of CM and I just 'liked' Tamron. As a mother of 4 your are always taking photographs to document your children as they grow, but for me it photography became a passion when I lost my son at the age of 17 and realized that his 'book of life' must end. Breaks my heart when I heat others say that they have not had family photo's in such an such years. I just want to grab up my camera and stop time for them through photography. I love that I have a lot of photograph's of my son, but honestly there will never be enough!
I have just recently gotten into snapping pictures….I love that I have a new appreciation for the mundane things in life. The wall that I would have passed by before, now begs me to take its picture. The old sign in the parking lot that I would have thought was rusty and ugly, now becomes beautiful and alive!

As far as what photography means to me…well, I'm not sure that I can articulate that. It's more of a feeling than anything. I love being able to capture feelings on "film" for myself and others. I'm pretty sure it shows in my work too.
I see my world through the camera and would a great opportunity to zoom in.
I have already liked both of you for a while. 🙂 What I love about photography is that you get a glimpse into a special moment that is forever frozen in time. There is nothing like finding an old photo of your great grandparents or complete strangers and seeing that special moment captured then redoing it for someone else.

Photography to me is a new beginning. It's capturing timeless memories and being a meaningful part of someones life.
Well I don't like Clickin Mom's – I LOVE it…and I love (well like on FB) Tamron – they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first great lens I ever purchased!
Photography is special to me since it not only let's me freeze time, but I also can go back and re-appreciate the little things in those moments I may not have noticed at first glance. I can study my art and see the little flecks of gray in my son's blue eyes that match my husband's (that you just can't see until you stare at them) and the little patterns the pollen on a beautiful tigerlily leaves. It's all in the details.

Just about a week ago, I broke my Tamron lens and was seriously sick over it. My camera decided to "jump" off my table and it landed lens down. At first I thought I had lucked out and only chipped the end of my FAVORITE lens, sadly I had actually damaged the zooming mechanism. Alas, it is my favorite lens, so I have been manually pulling it/pushing it in/out in order to still use it.

What I like about photography is the momenta its caputure for us.

Photography to me is capturing the candid moments, the moments that are as close to real and not posed as possible. My family is starting to enjoy it more and now don't mind as much being my models…
Plus I really do love having the memories that we have made in picture form and being able to look at them again over and over… My kiddos really enjoy that and they love their first year books…
Photography is expression. The lens would complete my collection….at least for now.

I upgraded to my DSLR last summer because our memories are too precious to leave to chance. I love the control I've been given over capturing these priceless moments with our daughters. This lens would be an awesome addition to my camera!

I am very excited about this giveaway, because this lens is exactly what I am looking for as a versatile, take with me everywhere lens! As a beginning photographer, my wish list seems endless. I've "liked Tamron" on Facebook and of course I already like (love) Clickin' Moms. Photography has always been very important to me as a way to capture my children's (and now my grandchildren's) lives. As an amateur genealogist, I also treasure the photographs of family members from the last 100 plus years. And now- as I am a new retiree, it is becoming an art form as well.

The reason I love photography is seeing the joy it brings to my clients and friends when I've captured their families in a way that they have not been able to. Including having both mom and dad in their pictures.
CM and Tamron Lenes are now both "liked" by me!
Like many new moms, I felt it was my parental duty to document every new milestone of my son’s life. The smiles, the pouts, first foods, first steps… I made a promise to myself, for the first year of his life, to take one picture (or fifty!) of him each day so that those moments would never slip away from memory.
It was during this year that I realized just how much I enjoy photography, and just how important capturing those precious moments really is.
This is what I intend to do for my clients as well; let them live every moment of their lives, while allowing me to capture the best.

I love photography for many reasons – its something that my dad and I enjoy doing together – going on adventures with our cameras, seeing the same thing and capturing it in our own way. Coming home and processing either film in our lab or digital files on the computer.
I love capturing my own son and revisiting moments with him through photographs.
I like Tamron lens mainly because I am loving photography. As a new grandmother, I have discovered that I have a passion for not only shots of a precious 4 month old grandson, but anything that will actually let me near it with my new Nikon D90. While I stretched to buy the camera, of course the lens will have to come later. This lens would allow me the opportunity to take a local photography class and really get into this passion we all love!

What I love about photography is that the memories that I have forgotten or are way in the back of my mind are brought back once again when I sit and view the photos I've taken. Especially those of my late dd it means that she's not forgotten and she was here with all of us she was real and we did enjoy life, it's preserved in photos and not just memories…

Photography is my way of holding onto those memories that can fade so quickly from my mind. If it weren't for pictures I would forget so much. I love showing my kids things from their past and I love capturing memories for my clients as well. I love seeing the smiles on their faces when they see their images. I love seeing my kids laugh at themselves when they were younger…better yet…laughing at old photos of me or my husband. Where would the world be without photos?! I'm so blessed to be able to share this love I have for photography with the people in my life that I love the most.

Photography is so emotional.. it's all about capturing that one moment, that one precious moment. It's like seeing a glimpse into your own heart.
Unfortunately, my heart has been broken for the last week because I lost a hard drive full of the first 18 months of my daughters life- including the videos of us together in-country during her adoption process.

There is so much about photography that I love…..the feel of the camera in my hands, the click sound as I snap the picture and thrill I get as my heart begins to beat faster as I load my photo's onto my Mac. I can get creative with them in PSE if I wish to, or just sort through them re-live all the memories that they hold. And just think I get to do it all again tomorrow!!

Photography is a huge creative outlet for me. Before I had my kids I painted and sketched – now I feel like I never have time to complete anything that extensive, photography helps me "be me" and get the creative juices flowing – THAT keeps me sane, and helps me feel more like myself. I don't know what I'd do without it!

What do I NOT love about Photgraphy? I get to capture the essence of a child, a family, a creature and save that image for eternity for generations to see and enjoy. One of the (many) things I love about photography is the ability to see the world through other people's eyes. I get to travel to places I've never been before and see things that I may never otherwise see. I also LOVE the thrill of a great capture. It gets my heart racing! Thanks for the contest.

oops you can delete my previous, I forgot to say what I loved: I love giving my clients photos that they cherish 🙂 and of course I love to see them on their walls, coffee tables and all over their blogs!
Photos are my memories. I started taking pictures with an Instamatic in elementary school. They are some of my most treasured photos. I use my camera everyday, sometimes to capture my kids' smiles, record some of my artwork, or grab the light dancing across the rye field.
I liked both pages, and photography is the ONLY thing I do in my *spare* time besides sleep 🙂 It's the only thing that keeps this stay at home mom from going crazy!

I like both on FB. The most values thing photography has taught me is a new perspective can change so much. I used to have pretty bad seasonal depression. Taking on photography as a hobby showed me there is so much beauty hidden in all the things I thought I hated about the winter darkness.

A great giveaway for sure.. I went and Liked both as well.. what I love about photography. for me its taking a photo of someone particularly someone who might not be all that self confident.. who right out of the gate will tell me.. I look horrible in pictures.. and take some photos for them and have them look at them even on the back of the camera and have them go OMG WOW.. I actually look pretty good and their whole face lights up and their whole attitude changes and in that moment or session time they feel really good about themselves.. that to me is the most rewarding part of photography.. making people feel good about themselves.

I love that photography is the ability to capture a single moment in time and create an everlasting memory. Our babies grow to fast and those moments slip away from us, there is nothing more heart warning than looking at their tiny innocent lives captured forever on film(…well, hard drive/disc/print, etc.)

What do I love about photography? It's finally given me my 'voice'. I am not good at sports, I am not talented in art, or singing, or blessed with good social skills…but I have finally found something that expresses me….and captures moments for others to remember forever.
I love taking picture of my daughter. Each day she grows and learns something new and each stage is my favorite for different reasons.
liked you both on FB. There are so many things to love about photography. The memories of my grandpa (who died when I was 11) have faded from my memory. I am so thankful that I have pictures to remember him by. My grandmother died when my oldest daughter was 9 months old and I cherish the pictures I took of the two of them together a week before she died.

what I love about photography is that it is a story-telling medium even though it's not a series of words or moving images/videos. and the story is unique to the person looking at the picture! happy or sad? chaotic or calm? it all depends on where we are in life, our moods, our collective experiences, etc…

It's hard to pinpoint one single thing that photography means to me but I guess if I had to choose one thing specifically it would be emotion, love the way a great image makes you feel and it isn't necessarily technical perfection but more on an emotional level.

I am new to photography, but even all the not-so-great photos I took of my son when he was younger mean the world to me. They help me remember and connect with that time again. I enjoy lots of things about photogrpahy, but the one that currently fills up most of my time is exploring nature, exploring God's creations and sharing them with my friends, from icicles to raindrops to birds to trees (or individual leaves 🙂 to sunsets and moon shots. To me photography is a memory that can be felt well after the photograph has been taken. A memory is in our heart and mind but once captured with the lens; proof that that memory was real and did happen! I am so flabbergasted at how fast time goes by especially when I realize how quickly my children are growing and photography is my way of coping with letting them get older. I can capture moments and memories with my camera and years, months, weeks or even days later I can revisit that photograph and experience the same feelings that I felt the day I snapped my shutter button. Photography is more than photographs; it's emotions.

I fell in love with photography last year when I purchased my first DSLR. Since then I have taken photos almost every single day. I share them on my blog so family and friends can also enjoy them.

Capturing life – that's what I love about photography. How I can look at a picture and it takes me back to that moment that I would have otherwise forgotten. That expression on your little one's face, how exactly innocent their smile was, etc. It touches my heart!

What do I love about photography???? EVERYTHING! I love to capture those special moments that can be Cherished for a lifetime. I have "liked" both sites on FB. I have been a huge fan of photography for years, since I got my first camera – a good ol 110 when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I got my first real 35mm in jr. high when I joined the yearbook staff, and haven't put a camera down since. Already a CM fan and just liked tamron lens cause they are awesome. I've been drooling over getting a tamron lens, but can't afford it right now with having 16 month old in daycare along with budget cuts to education in Florida currently. The reason I love photography is because it freezes a moment in time for you to remember forever. It captures those simple subtle moments so they do not get passed by.

The very reason that I started photography is because I have always been able to see things for more than what they are and have always had a camera in my hand from the moment I can remember. Despite this, I have only ever known how to take a photo rather than make one. This has frustrated me for many years and only now after some hard months of study, have I ‘made’ my first ever photograph! I really enjoy photography – the best thing that I love about it is what it's taught me as a person; to really see the beauty of life and how unique people are!

I love everything about capturing moments in photography. I love the reaction of clients when they see their pictures, thats what it is all about. I also like providing services to families who otherwise would not have been able to afford professional pictures, it is even more special to them. The best thing about it all is being chosen by your clients out of all the photographers out there, to capture their family/love/wedding…etc. It makes me feel important and special and in turn makes me want to do the best job I can for them! 🙂

I have always loved getting lost in a photograph. That is exactly what photography is to me. Whether the photograph is 30 minutes or 30 years old it tells a story about a specific moment in time.

About photography, I've always loved to capture the moment and love trying to capture it just as I see it. Plus I love to look back and remember all the fun times and beautiful scenery that I've shared with my friends and family.
What do I love most??? I love that photography gives me something that is mine and mine alone. As a SAHM, it is my escape. I don't know where I would be without it. 🙂 Probably insane, lol.

I like both CM and Tamron on FB. What I love about photography is Keeping Memories Alive. A friend of mine lost her son in an automobile accident 3 years ago. She had very few photos of him to look at when he passed, so keeping memories alive for those that still have their loved ones, is very important to me because you never know when you could lose a child or any family member that is dear to you and having little or nothing to remember them by.

Photography was — and still is — my therapy and it soothes my soul. Photography to me is like breathing. Everything I see I "picture" as an image. What does that image say to me? How does it make me feel. Something as simple as a Dad picking up a toddler can be a heart-string plucking moment when captured in a way that makes the rest of the world dissapear, all that exists is father, child and their love for each other.

Fans of both! What I love about photography is being able to freeze time. Children can stay newborns forever. We can remember the times our kids danced in their too-fluffy tutus, climbed to the top of the fridge, and hugged their baby sister. The glances that only last a second, are captured forever.

So, what do I love about photography? Now-a-days, I consider my camera a tangible extension of my soul. I seldom go anywhere without it. Photography allows me to soak up and enjoy the magic in every experience, be it mine, my daughter's, or my clients'… Seeing the world through my lens has awakened passion for living in the moment and for attending to the seemingly insignificant changes that go on around me. I giggle as the fog is tickled when the sun rises and marvel at the almost-ceremonial manner in which the clouds wave their final colorful good-bye as IT sets. That is, my beginnings, middles, and ends are THAT much more memorable with photography in my life.

It is really hard to just jot down one or two reason I absolutely adore photography, because photography has become a way of life for me. It has transformed how I view the world, and the lovely people ion it. I am constantly looking at things in ways of, "how could I capture this" to share it with the world.
Another reason I adore photography is because I have the ability to document love, with my camera. Whether I am photographing a child's innocent laugh and smile, or how his/her parent cradle him/her so gently or lovingly, a families bond, or silly personalities, a couples passion, or anything along those lines.. I am constantly witnessing love, firsthand, and being able to share that to the world.
It not only inspires me as a photographer, but as an individual!

Photography to me means meditation. Being a creative sould with little time to do anything these days, to me it's what paint is to home improvement – an immediate gratification fix. I can take my camera and in 5 minutes have some gorgeous creations that will remind me that I am still an artist at heart regardless of my harried schedule.

I love that photography nurtures my artistic, creative side because that's what's easiest and feels comfortable. Yet, it challenges me through the technical knowledge needed to succeed. I'm learning to pay more attention to detail around me. Photography has strengthened my own confidence in myself and my ability to excel in any area where I exert effort. Of course, I love having some really lovely images of my sweet family, too!

I was already a fan of clickinmoms and just became a fan of tamron. Was always a fan in real life of their lenses just not on facebook 🙂 I love photography for many different reasons. One reason is because I love capturing a moment. Not a posed, fake smile, unemotional one but a picture that makes you feel like your actually there. You feel the temperature, you smell the smells, and you feel the emotion. My husband works on the other side of the world from us and being able to have him feel like he is their with us through a picture is priceless!

I Like (more like love) CM. I like Tamron as well but can't "Like" them on facebook because it is a USA site! I love photography. There is just something about capturing all the moments with my kids and my everyday life!

I've liked both pages. What I like about photography: Capturing the little moments in life. I know that sounds cliche, but it truly is. I've started my own photography business this year (I'm 18) and plan to continue it while in college. I've been doing my peer's senior pictures and there is no better feeling than knowing they chose me over a professional studio. Photography is my passion!

The reason why I love photography is because it helps me to capture life's moments that I might other wise forget, but it also gives me an escape. To be creative and look at the art that I have surrounding my everyday life 🙂

The thing I love about photography, is that it is my only escape right now. My life is chaotic and stressful,Two years ago, I was dealt a REALLY tough hand. When I am looking through that viewfinder, the world just seems to quiet down & those things that drive me nuts on a daily basis just fade away. It's like I concentrate on nothing else, except the art I'm making & the moment i'm attempting to capture. Photography makes me happy. 🙂

I already was a fan of clickinmoms and liked Tamron! I love everything about photography but what I love most is that I am freezing a moment in time that I can look back on whenever I want.
What I love about photography is that you capture fabulous moments in life! The crazy ones, the sweet ones, the quiet ones and just the plain 'ol everyday moments!

What I love about photography is that I can record my family's or someone else's family's history! I couldn't imagine not grabbing a camera on a daily basis – it is THAT important to me! 🙂 I'd LOVE a new lens!!! 🙂
I "liked" both FB pages'. Photography allows my eyes to see what others don't. I enjoy being "my own artist" and that no view is "wrong or incorrect". Being able to express your(s) and your subjects emotions at that given time is an amazing experience that only can be remembered by a single image.
I have to thank my friend Shawn for sharing clickinmoms with me. Can't wait to read more about all the clickinmoms out there! I love the Tamron lens I already have, and this would be a great addition!

I like both of the pages and put it as my status! Photography is my passion. I am a newborn and children photographer in Louisiana. It seems when I see something I see it as a picture and it inspires me! I would love to win the lens! I shoot Nikon.

I didn't know how much i loved photography until the pictures that I was taking were of my own baby. Now I know that I will probably die with my Nikon in my hand! My daughter was born with issues that required us to visit the Kennedy Kreiger Institute on a regular basis. My photos of her took me to a place that made me feel happy and like we were "normal". Eight years later she is perfect. I have worked in studios and for other people. I even owned my own studio but something was always missing. So I started shooting for people that needed it like I once did. These days, most of the time that I spend on photography is spent taking pictures of children that are terminally ill. I don't charge the families because when I think back on my families darkest moment, I remember how much happiness was brought to me by just looking at photos of a happier moment. Suddenly everything rang bright with hope, even if just for a moment. I love giving others their share of peace. To me photography is happiness, hope, and proof that a "better day" can happen every day. To me, photography is life in still form.

What I love about photography is capturing all the different expressions and interactions w/ siblings and parents. It just makes me smile. . . I LOVE everything about photography!!!!!!! 🙂
